In this piece of writing, we will elucidate Rupin Pass Trek on the itinerary you have shared only in very plain and simple words.

Why to Choose Rupin Pass Trek with TrekYaari?

Rupin Pass Trek isn’t about the destination, it is about the journey itself. This walk passes through isolated settlements, and lovely meadows, thundering waterfalls and finally crosses a high mountain pass. TrekYaari's experienced guides, pre-determined camping sites, safety kits and gradual acclimatization allows trekkers to soak in the trek.

Day 1: Jiskun to Jakha

The approach For those arriving from Old Manali, descend down the winding cobbled paths until you reach the valley floor.

First day of the Rupin pass trek Jiskun is a quiet village in the vicinity of apple orchards & pine woods. Jiskun itself is a bit of a postcard village, tradition that reaches out to trekkers with warm visitors other before the walking begins.

From Jiskun, the path ascends to Jakha, a village reputed to be one of Asia's highest. The trek goes through dark forests, wooden bridges and narrow mountain paths. All along the journey, you can gaze at snow-capped peaks and deep valleys.

Jakha village is special as it has houses on cliffs that are connected by wooden ladders. Staying here will provide opportunity for trekkers to explore the local Himalayan culture closely. With cool mountain breeze and a chilled out atmosphere, Jakha is an ideal nightstay destination.

Day 2: Jakha to Dandera’s Thatch

On the second day of Rupin Pass Trek route climbs from Jakha to Dandera’s Thatch. It’s a scenic and fun fly day!

The hike begins by getting out of the village and on to the open land. As the path eventually winds to open spaces of lush green meadows, there are grazing sheep and horses visible nearby. The Rupin River snakes through, providing a musical soundtrack with its soft gurgling sound.

The view of Dandera’s Thatch gets wilder as you approach. The site is encircled by high cliffs and there are several cataracts from lofty crags. It is definitely one of the prettiest campsites on Rupin Pass Trek.

Dandera’s Thatch is like a natural amphitheater with mountains encircling it. TrekYaari establishes camps in this location with all the right amenities for trekkers to chill out with such breathtaking views.

Day 3 Dandera’s Thatch to Upper Waterfall.

This is one of the most beautiful days of Rupin Pass Trek. It is a small but adventurous walk from Dandera’s Thatch to Upper Waterfall.

You hike parallel to the Rupin River and will be doing some refining over snow, depending on the season. Further ahead, you will see a huge Rupin Waterfall as you proceed. This is one of the highlights of the trek and it looks simply magical.

The campsite at the Upper Waterfall seems to tower islandside in a high mountain world. There are moraines, boulders, and stream-poisoned fields of snow and ice. With the sound of the waterfall and a cold mountain wind, it's an experience you will never forget.

We pay good attention to guiding our trekkers on the former section of this trek, for the earlier part of this stretch could get confusing. TrekYaari guides watch out to make sure that none of these turns are missed! Trekkers are advised to take it slow and soak in the views all the while staying safe.

Day 4: Upper Waterfall – Ronti Gad

Today, cross the watercourse and then climb around an "S" shaped gully to reach Rupin Pass.

This is the toughest and most rewarding day of the Rupin Pass Trek. It is an early start, as the trekkers are all set to cross Rupin Pass today.

The trail ascends through snow fields just above the Upper Waterfall. It’s an energy-and-perserverance-demanding section – positive attitude in the presence of a tourist train at this altitude isn’t always the easiest to come by – but each step delivers you nearer and nearer the summit. An emotional moment When you are on the top of Rupin Pass at great heights, it is a feeling out of tears and proud.

Trekkers are greeted with stunning panorama of Himalayan peaks and extensive snowfields from the pass. After a short break at the pass you start descending towards Ronti Gad.

It's a gnarly descent down, going through snow and rocks. The snow recedes, and green patches return little by little. The Ronti Gad campsite is calm after the high drama of the day and an ideal place to recharge with happy hearts making a successful pass crossing.
